FACULTY OPEN DAY 2010 The Faculty of Astrological Studies will be holding Faculty Open Day on Saturday 20th March 2010 at Conway Hall, 25 Red Lion Square, London WC1 (nearest tube: Holborn). Doors open at 10.00 for a 10.30 start. The event will begin with the Student Forum which will showcase presentations by Diploma level students on a variety of different astrological topics, chaired by Faculty Day Organiser Julia Savage. The afternoon will feature this year’s special guest speaker Clare Martin doing a talk called ‘The Magic of Astrology’ Clare will also present the awards to students who have been successful in their Faculty's exams. Japanese Star Worship with Jules Genik 7:00 Japanese Star Worship Jules Genik julesgenik@hotmail.com Like most medieval heads of state, the emperors of Japan kept court astrologers (Onmyoji). With influences from Buddhism, Daoism and Shinto religions, the Onmyoji incorporated astronomy, calendar making and ying yang direction into daily practice, at first reserved for the aristocracy but later a part of everyday life with some rituals and superstitions holding reverence in mainstream culture to this day. Looking up to the skies since her early childhood, Jules has always had a fascination with the stars. From her early teenage years she began exploring different areas of the arcane realm from runes to magic eventually becoming passionately involved with astrology. Originally from Canada, extensive travelling led Julesr to Japan before she finally settled in London. During her Saturn return she made up her mind to move to become a professional astrologer.
