4 by sasha_i Thanks for the link I found also Kitab al-Iktiyarat ?ala l-buyut al-itnai ?asar by Sahl ibn Bisr al-Israi?ili, with Its Latin Translation De electionibus, Thesis, University of Glasgow, 1985. Quote Sun May 02, 2010 8:41 pm
6 by sasha_i I think Crofts's thesis about "On elections" contains the first English translation of a work of Shal (latinezed: Zahel). What puzzles me is whether it is a translation from Latin text or from Arabic? Probably it's from the Latin text. Anyway this site is a little treasure. Quote Tue May 11, 2010 4:24 am
7 by Eddy Thanks for the link Skar Mkhan. I just downloaded Angela Voss' thesis about Ficino, 'Magic, astrology and music : the background to Marsilio Ficino's astrological music therapy and his role as a Renaissance magus.' Kirk, if you read this thread, after our conversation about Ficino a while ago, I think you probably would be interested in Voss' work. The only thing I would need now is time, to read the almost 400 pages thesis. Quote Wed May 12, 2010 5:18 pm
8 by skar mkhan I think if Crofts was in possession of both languages, it would have been hard to resist to use the Arabic primarily. :) Then Ben Dykes says in his Introduction, he "consulted her critical edition and translation of the Arabic". Quote Fri May 28, 2010 3:32 am
