Where is my cheque book?

Background: I have mislaid my cheque book. I'm not worried that it was stolen but I have searched high and low. I had left it at my daughter's place initially and have a vague memory of putting it somewhere but can't even remember whether I took it home or left it there. I did have a look around her place but couldn't find it.

This is my nth attempt to post a chart. Old treadle machine of a computer and lack of computer nous are always a deadly mix.

I am the ASC, the cheque book is the 2nd. As my Horary beginner's luck will have it both are signified by the exalted Saturn in the 11th.

I have looked through a few posts with that dilemma but most deal with assigning a significator to a person, not a possession. I have heard that John Frawley sometimes goes to the next house or sign. In this case it will be Aquarius and again Saturn; the next sign/house from that would be signified by Jupiter in detriment in the 6th.

That doesn't make a lot of sense because for once my financial situation is quite good; the state of the actual cheque book may be another matter altogether?

The moon, my co-significator, has just moved out of the 5th, suggesting that the lost item is not with my daughter any more. The moon is moving toward Jupiter but will have to go past aspects with Venus and Mercury first, so that would be a prohibition.

Both Moon and ASC are quite early in their sign so things are yet to crystallize?

Jupiter (if it is indeed the signifier of my cheque book) is applying to a trine with Saturn, although the orb is too wide for my comfort.

Jupiter as L4 signifies the outcome. Not promising.

Also if I take Saturn as L2 the placement would be SSE, if Jupiter then we are looking at a location more WNW in my house. Neither place yielded anything.

Would somebody be able to point me in the right direction?

Hi there, I notice that the chart is for the 7th of September...you haven't found it, yet?

Normally I would do horary charts using the Regiomontanus system instead of Placidus; many horary practitioners prefer Regiomontanus but this isn't a 'law', exactly...

In horaries it's also helpful to include the Part of Fortune, as this can often represent a co-significator for the lost object. A few people on this forum have had great success with POF.

I would use the Moon as the lost object (chequebook), given that Saturn is shared between the 1st and 2nd houses. It hasn't left the 5th house; it's about to enter it, as the Moon sinks below the horizon going from 7th to 6th to 5th, if you see what I mean. Using the '5 degree rule' the Moon is technically in the 5th, so it's likely to still be with your daughter or in other places signified by the 5th: the pub, a casino, a restaurant; the Moon's applying aspect to Venus (signifying a female) may well mean that a female (your daughter?) will find it for you.

But check the position of POF and start from there. The close aspect to Venus would suggest some success in finding it.

Good luck!

I've suggestion. If you have duct air-conditioning in your house through the grills in the floor than your check book could slide through down and might be somewhere at the duct bent. You might try to reach it with hand .

I came to this version because Moon at 6th cusp and 6th in house is utilities and not far below 1st floor level (AC-DC axis).
Especially in air sign. Also check book associates with Mercury and Moon is ruled by Mercury.
And applying sextile to Venus in 8th, where 8th may symbolize cleaning some dark spaces, etc.
Also Moon ruling 8th and your checks are potential expenses, not incomes (8th versus 2nd)

You won't believe this but I found the cheque book!

It had been missing for about 7 weeks. Normally I am much tighter with my security but I had gone o/seas back to my family; my mum died while I was there, then I came home to an extraordinary workload, and just as I was cocking one eyebrow toward direction of out of the brown substance, my dear father-in-law died, and all the time the work was hammering on. Not trying to fish for sympathy but my bum was in Australia, my head still in Switzerland, my heart all over the place and my brain definitely nowhere to be seen.

I rarely use the cheque book so there was no urgency. The one thing I was 100% sure was that I had mislaid the bugger; there was no fear of loss or theft so I wasn't in a hurry. But the thing was niggling away at me and I did have fits and bursts of turning all the obvious places upside down over the last 7 weeks.

So in exasperation I did the horary but it did take another burst and a fortnight for me to post it.

I was convinced I had set the chart to Regiomontanus but I found it traumatic to go to astrodienst and to export it to here. As I said, my computer IQ dwells deeply in the cellar.

Yuriy, you were spot on. No aircon in our house but I had put the thing away too carefully, it was right at the bottom of a green shopping bag, underneath some other stuff, in my own single story house, on the office floor, near a book shelf.

The one thing I'm uncertain on is the assignation of the 8th to my chequebook. I would have thought that it belongs to the 2nd, it is the money I still have, my asset, savings, my buying power. Once I make a transaction or have a purchase in mind the money will go to somebody else and the focus may shift to the 8th. But in this case I just wanted to find the cheque book; I don't need it for any specific outlay. But I could be wrong here.

In my analysis I failed to take a closer look at the moon. Gunhilde, you were right, if the significator can't be used then you look to the co-pilot. I was too bent on finding an applying aspect between Saturn and whatever represented my chequebook.

Your input has been of tremendous help to me and I am grateful for your time. I will take this all on board.

Ok Edith, I'm glad that some my thoughts were helpful .
May be just "cleaning some dark spaces" is closest description as well as very close to floor surface.
Normally in two-story building with basement upper floor is where MC, basement refers to IC and AC-DC axis about 1st floor level.
In one-story unit AC-DC still being floor level but if planet slightly lower or higher doesn't much effecting location (???)
Also interesting in which side of your house checkbook was found. Is it Western side?
Some horary question at this forum was about which unit going to be sold in apartments and I was glad that location was clearly shown by planet-significator location in the chart.

Also, regarding timing, 7 weeks looks too long for tight applying Moon-Venus sextile. But Moon in cadent house and in mutable sign, while Venus in fixed sign in 8th doesn't help for quick resolution either.

If I take the dead centre of our house (long passageway) then the office is located WSW. The moon in the 6th, being the chequebook, should have maybe pointed more slightly N of W, say in one of the bedrooms, but in the office it was.

However Venus in the chart would be WSW but that may well be me trying to fit the facts around the astrology in hindsight, not a practice I would aspire to, however tempting it sometimes may be. I would have never looked to Venus as any signifier, other than her being the next planet the moon applies to.

As for the timing I had started looking for it 7 weeks ago but only cast the horary 2 and a bit weeks ago when I had run out of options. The applying orb to Venus is 30 min. Half a month perhaps?

The clearing of dark spaces is certainly apt, and at various levels at that. Sound judgement.

Hi,

Do you think you might've left it with a friend or a friend has found it and is keeping it for you? I notice lord of the 4th is Mars, and Mars is in the 11th in a watery sign. I am thinking a friend who is near the water! The 2nd house is ruled by Saturn (darkness) but it is located in the 10th (highest point). I think it is up high in a dark place, with a friend who is located near the water, or the check book is located near the water.

Hi StellarTiggy

Thank you for your input but I did actually find the cheque book not so very long after I posted the question on this forum. However I had actually asked a couple of weeks before getting fed up with the situation. It is all in my second post. Cheers, Edith.
