Trouble with the Eyes - Check this Natal Chart!

A woman calls me telling that she is suffering from intense pains in the eyes upon exposiure to daylight. It is a problem that has been haunting her for 14 years, but it has got really bad and close to unbearable since February this year. Her eyesight is considered normal by doctors with about –0,25 on both eyes, although she does have a slight squint. Opticians can’t explain the trouble. They can't find anything wrong, yet the head pains are so intense they are preventing her from working and living a normal life. Look at the chart. Reproduced with her permission.

The chart shows both luminaries below the ground in Earth signs, joined to the infortunes. The Sun is joined to Mars, and the Moon is joined to Saturn. This is the classical example of an infliction, yet what is going on? It looks as if the luminaries, who are the natural significators of the eyes, are fighting one another. The opposite powers of Mars and Saturn is like having the accellerator floor down on one eye while the handbreak is still on, on the other. When Mars and Saturn combind it's a case of complicated coordination, often causing stress, overload and friction.

The presence of the Moon with Saturn in Virgo would indicate sluggishness on the nervous system. With the Sun joined to Mars there may be some irritation, inflamation or infection. The combination of Mars and Saturn is TOO DRY.

Now what could the woman be reacting to? I am asking Skyscript readers for advice on this one. Is the use of coffee or a stimmulant making matters worse, or is there an opposite type of intolerance causing a reaction? Could she be reacting to Mercury remains in dental fillings? The woman says she has brothers and sisters who are not bothered with similar problems. She is 34 years old and her parents are still married, so no obvious conflicts between the Sun and Moon, co-significators of the parents. By occupation her father works at a assistive center and the mother works at at kindergarden.

A second consultation with the woman has confirmed that she is suffering from dry eyes and a poor fat-production in the eye glands. The pains which have been close to unbearable since the end of February, make me wonder whether there is connected to the retrograde motion of Saturn causing the irritation to blossom up and that the crises may recede when Saturn turns direct again. Considering that the woman has suffered from the irritation in 14 years, which is coming up to half a Saturn cycle - this is rather interesting, too.

Now I am not a doctor or an optition so there is a limit and a restriction as to how far I may go in offering advice in this matter. However, in which direction should the woman search? If Saturn in Virgo is consuming all the Virgo cell salts (ref. Jansky), then a supplement of Potassium Sulfate and Iron Phosphate is recommended to combat deficiency. Or should there be a supplement of oils and fats according to the nature of Jupiter? I also read an article by Jansky in his 'Modern Medical Astrology' which suggested that Saturn in Virgo could be reacting to white sugars and that it needs some real food to 'properly digest'.

The woman is in severe pain and trouble, and I would advise that this may not the right time or place for light-hearted humour or irony, but the problem should be treated in a duly and solemn fashion. Thank you.

hi andrew i note the exact 150 from ascendant to the mars/sun conjunction. the 150 is often thought to have a connection to health. the mars/sun is ruled by that saturn in virgo conjunct moon as well.

i note in judith hills book on medical astrology that she mentions the sun and moon having some connection to eyesight, along with mars, aries and the ascendant. she recommends studying the influence of certain fixed stars from other sources. as you mention saturn 1/2 cycle is 14 years. this seems to be tied into that at a superficial look. i wish i could offer some special insight to help.

perhaps there is something psychological that makes this harder to diagnose..

Pankajubey seems to be having problems with entering posts.
It could have something to do with the adding of URL's.

Looks like she is suffering from:

but this should be easy for the Ophthalmologist to diagnose.

Rex Bills- Tears - Moon
Ptolemy- Saturn- Tearful- here saturn is retrograde and afflicts Moon.

In Annotated Lilly, p82:
Moon: "rheums or hurts in eyes....."

She may need- artificial tears,Vitamin A, flaxseed oil and fish oil (Omega -3 fatty acids)diet helps too and that is modern medicine not astrology.

Moon governs everything fish and Saturn and Moon over Linseed- so it seems understandable how supplementing these externally would help.

re: perhaps there is something psychological that makes this harder to diagnose..

I would agree, perhaps more tangible than pyschology though. I'm not assured the "can't explain" diagnosis came from a specialist, since the word used was Optician.

Optometry is a health care profession concerned with the health of the eyes and related structures, as well as vision, visual systems, and vision information processing in humans. Optometrists[1] (also known as ophthalmic opticians outside the United States and Canada

So, is a question of the comprehensiveness of the expert doing the diagnosis. I would think a referral to an eye specialist who "can explain" would be more useful than a "can't explain diagnosis"

re: haunting her for 14 years
14 years ago progressed Neptune sesquisquared Jupiter

you can see the 8th harmonic structure of Nodes, Chiron, Jupiter, and Neptune. And wonder what exactly Neptune did then.

I suppose I think it's in the nerves or similiar issue, an optician looking a mechanical problem would not find, another sort of expert may be required.

Photophobia Symptoms
When you have light sensitive eyes, the signals the retina sends to the brain are interpreted as pain or discomfort. The stronger the light source, the greater the discomfort.

People with lighter-colored eyes may be more prone to photophobia in bright sunlight and sharp lighting conditions, as their natural eye color contains less pigment to diffuse harsh light.

In an extreme case, you may consider wearing prosthetic contact lenses that are specially colored to look like your own eyes. Prosthetic contact lenses can reduce the amount of light that enters the eye and make your eyes more comfortable.

Photophobia can be caused by an increased response to light starting at any step in the visual system, such as:
Too much light entering the eye. Too much light can enter the eye if it is damaged, such as with corneal abrasion and retinal damage, or if its pupil(s) is unable to normally constrict (seen with damage to the oculomotor nerve).
Overstimulation of the photoreceptors in the retina
Excessive electric impulses to the optic nerve
Excessive response in the central nervous system

Photophobia Diagnosis and Treatment
Treating photophobia often involves simply treating the underlying cause. In rare instances, congenital diseases or medications can make your eyes sensitive to light, causing photophobia.

another kind of eye-related expert may have the diagnosis.

Jupiter square Chiron:

Squares always cause stress and difficulty which often manifest as physical plane problems in the teens and twenties. They represent maximum areas of struggle and work in the thirties...

Other noteworthy:
There is a rather tight Mars-Neptune parallel. (1')

Parans to nebula - connection to eyesight -- possible with -10 minutes(17:50 GMT) to give Capulus culminating.

found this too:
http://www.astrologyvidya.com/html/diseases.htm
Problem in eyes - Second house is considered as house of left eye and twelth house is considered as house of right eye. If sun and moon are in second houes and they are seen by mars and saturn with vision then there will be problem in the left eye of the ascendant or there will be complete damage of the left eyes. If sun and moon are sitting in the twelth house and they are seen by saturn or mars then the right eye will efected or completely damaged. If sun and moon are not in the second or twelth house, but second house or twelth house are seen by mars and saturn, chances of eye damage are still there. It all depends upon the intensity of second or twelth house being effected by bad planets

Firdar of Jupiter since 1999.
Jupiter is in 12th.

Firdar of Mars since 2011-2018.
Mars is in exalted and trines saturn and moon.
But it is in degree combustion by sun.

It will all depend if combustion is a malefic state or not.

I just chosed my own words here in translating the case from Norwegian to English, and when Skyscript was up and running again I felt pressed for time because there several issues to be done in haste at one and the same time.

I will certainly spend more time on thinking through all the advice that has been offered here from several. It is Nation's Day in Norway today (Federal Law) and not the right time for too much astrology. Very Happy

Hi Andrew,

I'm not expert on medical astrology but I'm interested on the subject because eyes are sensible for me also and I often have migraines.

What I observed on her chart, above the things mentioned already , are the following:

- Sun/Mars - Moon/Saturn midpoints on exact position of Uranus : it has to do with electricity of the body and overcharging. Maybe something related to optic nerves and connection with the brain.

- POF over Facies star -> eyes problems. POF is about our body.

Pankaj might be right. It may be Keratokonus. She needs a more detail medical analysis.

I also think that's something inherited from the family. Moon-Saturn connection always shows issues that comes from our family.

My advice to her - and is not only for the eye problem - is to learn to meditate or other form of relaxing her body - Jupiter in 12th house. I think that there is too much energy within her and she's not manifesting it to outside. Too much control of her emotions.

Dan

Hello,

Just Like Dan, yesterday I thought about migraines. There is a specific case of migraine which involves very painful eyes associated with it: it is called "Horton's migraines". Maybe your client should ask her physician to investigate this and eventually go to a neurologist?

Just to say thank you for your contributions. A transcript of suggestions has been sent the woman for her benefit and review. She says she already has been consulting with Norways leading expert in the field, who cannot find anything wrong with her eyes. I have suggested that maybe the pain will recede as Saturn turns direct, but have encouraged her to seek new councel with doctors abroad.
