jaimini or parashara

this is also more complicated then it appears... while watching some of those d-10 and d-9 divisional chart video tutorials the fellow made a comment about some of what was jaimini and not parashara system....

here is an article that goes into it a wee bit..

http://jyotishvidya.com/jaimini_or_parasara.htm

here are some questions on this....

is the use of navamsha and rashi as both very important a jaimini or parashara emphasis?

vargottama.. concept is jaimini or parashara?

thanks

Hi James,

I'm writing a reply to this post in my mind, but haven't yet had the time to take it to the keyboard. I'm involved in a very mind and energy taxing research project at the moment, which actually relates to the entire topic of the complexity of India's astrology.

This isn't a problem for western students alone, but also confounds the minds of astrologers in India. So there are some new systems which discard much of Parashara and all of Jaimini in favor of concentrating on a few principles from the vast array of what is available in classic texts. This is actually a very interesting development that I'll write a post on as time allows.
