I also noticed the late degrees, but if give that much credit to late degrees we'd be ignoring areas of the chart that hold a lot more information. Chart ruler is retrograde in the 12th in opposition to Mr. Violence (Mars). Saturn in the 12th is in its joy, but the 12th is still the worst house in the zodiac and having visibility to that Mars...

Moving on, Mars is closely conjoined to the IC (family ties, heritage) directly attacking the lineage. Mars is in sect and in mutual reception with Mercury in Aries in the 4th. There's the key - Mercury rules 5th (children) and by proxy of ruling the IC also shares rulership over family and heritage. Mercury in mutual reception with Mars is conjoined to Uranus. Uranus rules all things sudden and unexpected. This combination so closely conjoined to the Moon promised sudden and unexpected events in the child's life. Uranus is attacking the life (Moon is the lifegiver) by way of the chart being of the nocturnal sect. It also gives insight into the mother, who, based on this chart, is prone to sudden and violent actions.

What could have saved the situation - Venus and Jupiter in mutual reception. Both see Saturn in the 12th. However, neither one was strong enough to overpower the situation because Venus and Jupiter do not see eachother. On the other hand, Saturn, Moon, Mercury, and Mars all see eachother. Based on this chart it seems the situation could have gone either way but because the bad overpowered the good the situation turned to the worst outcome.

Let's not forget the LoF is also in the 1st giving secondary power to the existing framework of the chart. If we get technical, the Moon and Sun are in an out of sign conjunction and the Sun removes even more of the Moon's power.

Aside from the Declinations and parallels soo revealing to the case....

I see also from the jyotish perspective the weakness of the chart,
the Sidereal whole sign houses placement of the Rx ascendant ruler saturn in the 12th house, aspected by natural malefic mars by vedic 8th sign aspect is weak and hard for the body (asc.lord). And also the birth at day before new moon is not good for the moon, so important in childs chart.
