I read in the news that the Bolshaya Udina volcano in Russia has awoken and may erupt any time. I normally do expect some natural disasters in the news with transit Mars-Saturn in hard aspects, especially with the nodes, Pluto and Neptune involved, but was wondering which chart do you guys tend to look at for Russia? I am just curious if anything looks significant. Hopefully the volcano will not erupt.

Yes I had the same thought but as I am Capitalismus Centric I'm NOT too worried about Kamchatka.

https://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/map/#%7B%22autoUpdate%22%3A%5B%22autoUpdate%22%5D%2C%22basemap%22%3A%22grayscale%22%2C%22feed%22%3A%221day_m25%22%2C%22listFormat%22%3A%22default%22%2C%22mapposition%22%3A%5B%5B14.604847155053898%2C-247.49999999999997%5D%2C%5B70.72897946208789%2C-126.91406249999999%5D%5D%2C%22overlays%22%3A%5B%22plates%22%5D%2C%22restrictListToMap%22%3A%5B%22restrictListToMap%22%5D%2C%22search%22%3Anull%2C%22sort%22%3A%22newest%22%2C%22timezone%22%3A%22utc%22%2C%22viewModes%22%3A%5B%22list%22%2C%22map%22%5D%2C%22event%22%3Anull%7D

However, it is on the Pacific Rim and China is NOT too far away.

As to the Astrology ? r.Saturn is separating from r.Pluto. But applying to the Node and to Mars. Mars to the Node and to r.Pluto.

I watch these things as they do Crash the Markets as Nick Leason discovered.

I think you need Saturn and/or Uranus against Pluto for a decent Earthquake or Volcano Eruption.

But as the Tension around lasts till early Thursday week, 20th June, then something has to Kick Off.

Further, I did receive a Chart of the Peak Energies for the 17th June Full Moon and they are over Argentina and off the East Coast of USofA.

Whatever they mean ?

STOP !

Actually it is over Hong Kong and over Bolivia.

I'd say they should be worrying in Washington more than Siberia.

Mars crossing the Node usually is more to do with Aggression. But The South Node is being tracked by r.Saturn for long periods this Summer.

I think that is why there is a lot of Bad Temper around. People looking for Fights.

I'm NOT sure how a Volcano qualifies for being Lazy, Ignorant or Cowardly and Corrupt ? Those are my South Node indicators.

But then again I'm NOT A Volcano.

I am working with a couple of tentative charts for Russia but am not really satisfied with either of them, but the raising and lowering flags one shows some promise.
The dissolving of the USSR and the creation of the modern Russian state in the '90s was pretty tumultuous so there are a number of possible charts. Some folks have used the coupe in 93 but the timing is in so in much disarray who can tell. I think the charts presented for late December of 91 for the Russian Federation when Michail Gorbachev, the then President of Russia and Boris Yeltsin met privately to hash out Gorbachev's leaving office to have the best chance to be in the ballpark. The source is Gorbachev His Life and Times by William Taubman. The raising and lowering of the flags over the Kremlin after Gorbachev's public (televised) resignation gets my vote so far: 7:45 pm December 1991 at Moscow. Public demarcation and recognition after agreements behind closed doors fit a good event chart. Tentative chart for me at least at this point. I have not worked with this chart as much as I would like.
Currently: Transiting Ju trine to tSu aspecting natal Mars. China and Russia just signed a pact worth 20 billion. Me in the Nodal axis.
Very interested in other members thoughts on this chart for Russia.

aj , woowoo and tanit,

with regard to which chart to use for russia, here is my thinking... i think it is smart to use more then one chart.. it is more complicated, but i think an approach of including charts from the past in spite of changes in the history, is a valid way to go..

with that in mind, nic campion has 19 charts for russia~! put them in a blender and you get a lot of history, LOL!

essentially these charts mark important turning points in the overall history... choosing from one event while attractive, is not probably the most realistic way to go..

""What Russia Day commemorates in Russia?
It has been celebrated annually on June 12 since 1992. It commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of State Sovereignty of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic (RSFSR) on June 12, 1990."" that goes with the chart i have posted fwiw...

aj's chart is here in the book too.. it is referred to as the russian independence chart..

apparently russian astrologers like using the russia-slavic union chart which is the same date as the independence chart, but earlier and set to minsk..

personally, i always thought the 1917 chart resonated well with their history... i dig the saturn-uranus opp in the chart squaring onto the sun/mercury and think this captures some of how i perceive russia even at present..

lots to choose from.. sorry i can't be of more help!

Thanks for the charts, James. My newsfeed has been full of alarmist posts on the Yellowstone caldera now too. Now I see another piece on a volcano erupting in Indonesia:
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.independent.co.uk/news/world/asia/mount-sinabung-volcano-eruption-sumatra-ash-indonesia-latest-a8952136.html%3famp

I should not open the news reports until the transit passes, I guess!

Good work Tan !

1/ I'd say that Cancer rules the outer skin of the Earth.

2/ t.Mars is stressing the Saturn like North Node, and t.Saturn is stressing the Mars like South Node.

STRESS.

3/ The Astrocartographic data I got makes North South Lines along the following

East Siberia, Hong Kong down to Perth Australia. Via Indonesia.

Halifax Canada, Washington DC, Venuzuala, Argentina.

I think the main stress is over Hong Kong but clearly Indonesia and East Siberia are relatively close to that.

4/ However, as r.Jupiter is lubricating things via a powerful 150° I think things will be more Puff and Larva, than Explosions.

We are closing in on a Full Moon but r.Jupiter rules that too.

And that could make the Earth's Crust rise more the usual 10m or so letting the Tension off.

I think things will run off OK.

5/ Worth following what is going on in Hong Kong.

The basis of "My System" is following all events and linking them where appropriate.

Street Demonstrations linked with Volcanos and v.v. etc

https://uk.reuters.com/article/uk-hongkong-extradition/hong-kong-braces-for-mass-protests-against-bill-allowing-extraditions-to-china-idUKKCN1TC062?il=0

Just got to find r.Jupiter's role in it and if Mr Xi isn't a Jupiter figure then who is ?

Where do you get this data from? I suggest reading some history books.

8th December 1991 is not "Russia independence" or "Slavic union" it was founding date of Commonwealth of Independent States.

Russia declaration of independence was on 12th June 1990 at 9:45 am in Moscow (Ascendant 16.25 Leo). You can even watch a video:

wojtek,

thanks for commenting.. i don't speak russian, so the video is not helpful to me..

the data comes from nic campions book of world horoscopes..

945am GMT is 145 pm local... 4 hours difference.. in campions book the chart has 26 virgo rising... not sure how you get a leo ascendant off of this time, but i am curious for further elucidation... thanks.

Not to question the information you present, but the video you reference is in Russian, with auto-generated subtitles it is pretty clear what's going on though. Thanks for bringing it to everyone's attention. It certainly should be considered as a tentative chart for Russia.

I have to ask though, "Why the disdainful attack on the information presented?"
Rather than present a sincere case with the event chart and relevant transit or progression confirmation that would bring a positive contribution to the discussion, you instead deride our lack of historical research. (It also shows you are not paying attention the actual thread of discussion.)

The information and consideration for the Raising of the Flags chart were gathered by reading history and a lot of other research.

Other historical works were considered as well at least by me and took a lot of time and analysis. My problem with your post is your tone and I feel it is disrespectful to all the members that contributed here.

No one has declared they have a proven chart for Russia that has been verified by successful prediction. That's why James has taken the great trouble to present other alternative charts for Russia. It is all in the spirit of inquiry which you throw back in our face by your post rather than by becoming an advocate for your point of view.

The 25 December 1991 chart is powerful due to the symbolic and public perception of the demise of the USSR and Mother Russia becoming eminent once again by the raising and lowering of the flags over the Kremlin. Again not to say that is the best national chart, that remains to be seen.

The failed 1993 coupe is a rattling episode in the formation of the Russian state that could possibly negate any government that was formed before or confirm the legitimacy of the government after if you can pin a time down historically that is.

The precedence for this is just like thecase of the USA, there are better historical event charts for the nation but the July 4th of 1776 holds a nationalistic/symbolic power that runs deep in the collective consciousness that can not be overlooked. Of recent note, this can be said of the Sri Lankan chart as well.

That is all have to say and that was a lot. I am actually on vacation from the forum but your post struck a nerve with me. Okay, back into lurking mode, taking a breath from the surface of the Skyscript pond is clearly too much for this bottom feeder. (Me not you Wojtek.)
Cheers.

Hi James,
It is not the first time Nick Campion is wrong. He also uses a questionable date for Poland (the 3rd Republic). I even sent him an email years ago to clarify that but never got any reply.

Back to the horoscope of Russia. There is definitely Leo (lion) rising as there is no Bear in the Zodiac and there are no other roaring Zodiacal signs. Wink Just joking. I have done some research and it seems that the time 9:45am is not correct indeed. According to the transcript the Parliament started proceedings at 10am and there is no way they could vote before that time. Probably I used Greenwich time instead of local time and I used a time suggested by Campion or someone else. However I found a very interesting post by Astrolog Senina claiming the time was 11:00am. I will translate her post in full.

"While looking through articles with forecasts about the future of Russia, I was unpleasantly surprised by the data used by almost all astrologers - June 12, 1990, 13h.45min. (+4 GMT), Moscow. But the thing is that the TIME indicated in this chart is, mildly speaking, UNRELIABLE. I will explain why. The date and time of the horoscope is the declaration of independence of Russia. And it really happened on June 12, 1990, but not at 13h.45min., but at exactly 11h.00min. On the 12th of June 1990, I watched a live broadcast of the deputies' voting. The voting itself began at 10:52 a.m., and I remember exactly when the results of the voting appeared on the scoreboard, and when, almost immediately, it was announced and congratulated on the result, it was exactly 11:00 a.m. Accordingly, the chart should be calculated on this time. I remember, I was amused then that the rising sign of the country coincided with the rising sign of its president. I still have in my archive that horoscope, made by hand, with the help of compasses.
I can say at once that this horoscope works very well. And thanks that I knew it I could even manage to use it for "selfish purposes": I remember in 1998, analyzing the horoscope, I came to the conclusion that there is a very high probability of default. I withdrew all the money from the bank to the last penny, and then I decided to take all the cash I had and exchange it for dollars. And three days later, the country was in default. My husband was so happy (not because of the default, but because all the money was converted into dollars) and almost strangled me in his arms. A year earlier, we had borrowed from a friend an amount in dollars to buy a flat and had to give back dollars as well. So you can understand his joy.
So, you can use this chart. I give it to you."

hi wojtek,

thanks for your additional comments and for ajs too! do you live in russia? what do most russian astrologers use? thanks..

as i mentioned earlier - there are about 19 charts for russia in nic campions book.. now, he could be wrong, but i would be very hesitant to make that claim myself based off the amount of work he has put into this book i have possession of.. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nicholas_Campion

but just for fun, lets play with your idea of a leo rising.. since i have 19 charts to choose from, i can find one with leo rising! it is referred to as the ''russia independence'' chart.. let me give you the overview on the chart from campions book..

russia independence.

boris yeltin's announcement of the minsk declaration at about 745pm moscow time ( 545pm gmt) represents the public proclamation of russian independence.. chart 278 ( which i share in my post -from Mon Jun 10, 2019 11:44 pm up above) is set for 745pm moscow time, 8 dec 1991 and is relocated to moscow, the russian capital... russian astrologers use a chart for teh signing of the agreement at 14:17 eet and this time is given above for teh slavic union.. in this instance, however, the horoscope for the public proclamation seems to be the more powerful political moment... the russian parliament then formally ratified the minks declaration at 13:22:40, 12 december 1991...

he gives footnotes with references for all of this in his book.. i recommend anyone who is serious about mundane astrology, pick up a copy of his book.. it is invaluable..

here is a chart for 11am local - june 12th 1990.. this is very close to the chart in the link you provided, but not exactly the same.. the difference seems due to the software being used... ascendant is 28 leo 48' 09" in the chart below.. in the chart she provides it is 28 leo 43' 24"...

I am not Russian, I am Polish. My grandfather was Russian. I don't know which chart most Russian astrologers use, when I was reading Russian websites and forums two days ago had an impression that would be 12/06/1990 1:45pm chart. Well known astrologer Mikhail Levin uses chart for begining of Rurik's reign in Novgorod - July 6, 862 but I also found this date is criticized by other astrologers.
I think the best you can do is to do some research on your own and decide if that chart would be most useful for forecasts. Obviously 12 June 1990 chart was useful for Irina Senina that I quoted who converted her cash savings into dollars. I am quite certain there must be Leo rising in the chart of Russia and Moon (people) should be in Aquarius. Russians are Aquarius type people, the same as Polish and Ukrainians and probably some other Slavic nations.
I see no points in multiplying nation charts, I usually use the most recent one. Would 862 year chart work for Russia? Perhaps, maybe, possibly but over the centuries it was overlain by other horoscopes. Also the 1990 chart could be outdated in few hundred years or maybe not, we will see.

I value the work and input of Nicholas Campion but I don't rely on his charts in 100%. What he published is only a draft that should be discussed by astrologers in countries described in the book. As I said the chart he proposed for Poland was quite random and it just doesn't work. Also the chart for Israel (Ascendant 0 Scorpio) should be at least discussed. Ben-Gurion could declare anything at 4pm but the British Mandate of Palestine hasn't expired yet at that time. Even the Wikipedia says: "At midnight the British Mandate of Palestine is officially terminated and the State of Israel comes into being."
You can know that for sure only of you dig deeper, you read documents in the local language or speak with people from that nation.

thanks wojtek,

i appreciate the additional comments.. as for the women astrologer who made a good guess on the currency dynamic - that is not enough reason to use her recommendation for me... i think your suggestion to work it out by using any of these charts is a good way to go and generally what i do.. as i said earlier in the thread - i haven't spent any real time on a chart for russia... however i think it is rather simplistic to think of russia or russians as leo rising with moon in aquarius... i don't think that is a good way of getting at a valid chart for russia...

i like michael lutin, but don't know of mikhail levin! i looked him up and see there are a few links where he is directly or indirectly involved in..

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w5pAn38BYHE

this is him talking on mundane astrology and it has a part 2.. however, it is in russian so inaccessible to me..

his approach of using the oldest chart for russia has a lot of merit... all the rest of the historical data is stacked up onto this... i know other mundane astrologers who share a similar attitude about using older dates for countries, so he falls into this category too... with this in mind, i am sharing the chart that mikhail levin uses here for further consideration... thanks again - james

here is what it looks like using sidereal zodiac
