What does Algol in a wedding event chart indicate?

A friend of mine got married when Sun was conjunct Algol. Venus was 0 degree Taurus just 3 degrees to perfect conjunction with Uranus.

I wouldn't care so much if their relationship wasn't so toxic. He is a cheater, has cheated on her multiple times and broken their engagement 2 times before.
This time 1 month after their wedding he cheated on her while they were on their honeymoon.
We don't need a horary or event chart to tell this marriage wont last, but the Algol bothers me. I read a little bit about Algol, most discussions talk about violent or abusive relationships, but he is not physically abusive. He is just a cheater. Emotionally abusive maybe, but not physically abusive.

Since it's an event chart, I don't know whether the Algol is describing the man or the woman. I am assuming it should be the man because the Sun was conjunct Algol. With Venus 3 degrees away from Uranus I assumed she will divorce him 3 years after marriage. But I guess, it's not as simple as that. Does anyone know what Algol in a wedding event chart means?

Hi Jupiterrising,

Here is an article about marriage elections and it mentions that Dortheus and others assigned the Sun to the male:

https://www.skyscript.co.uk/marriage.html

I would not assume it means violence will occur but it is considered the most malefic star in the heavens and is not generally an easy influence on any chart. My guess is that it is describing actions such as the ones that have already occurred. Losing one's head can be metaphoric, where someone does not have good control over themselves, for example.

Although Venus is with Uranus it is also in a fixed sign and so is the Sun. Fixed signs can favor longevity, for good or bad.

Abusive tendencies would be more obvious in a natal chart rather than an event chart.

Thanks for the link Tanit. I read the article, it says that the 10th house, it's ruler, planets inside the 10th and aspects to 10th ruler show what happens between the couple and the 4th house shows how the marriage ends.

They had two wedding ceremonies the same day, I don't know the exact time of the ceremony, so I didn't draw the event chart. One of the ceremony was just before the wedding reception( which was the same day too) has MC in Leo. So Sun is not just the man here but also the relationship itself. Moon in Libra is void for the first part but later in the sign squares Saturn ruler of the 4th.

He is not physically abusive but I think he is emotionally abusive. Because I felt this time that the cheating was intentional. He left her at her honeymoon location, and traveled to another country saying he has some business emergency. She suspects he might have cheated, but I am sure he cheated.

Knowing her, this seems true! I feel like she will try to make this marriage work. He is her only serious relationship, and she is his only serious relationship too. They have been on and off for 11 years.

She forgives him because it's just sex without feelings. The women he cheats with are either escorts or employees who are willing. He has not been in a relationship with anyone other than my friend.

However, I feel he has fallen out of love with my friend and I feel he might be in love with some escort now. He will never marry an escort. My guess is he married my friend knowing he can have a wife and an escort on the side. For my friends sake, I hope I am totally wrong. I drew a horary chart asking this question, and unfortunately I think I am right.

Event chart: Wedding

They had 2 wedding ceremonies the same day. The first one was just family members. The chart attached is for the second ceremony.

Based on Event chart: He is Mars and Sun. She is Venus. That article says some astrologer takes the Ascendant for both the Man and Woman, in that case both are Mars. Sun and Venus are co significators?

The MC is ruled by Sun which is in the 7th house ruled by Venus conjunct algol and Mercury(ruler of radix 11th). Venus squares the MC. There are no aspects to Sun other than Mercury and Algol conjunction. Venus is separating a sextile from Mars.
There is nothing much happening in the marriage other than the Venus square and Mercury and Algol conjunction. Mercury is the turned 5th from the 7th, so if the wife is Venus then Mercury is a child. Mercury is ruled by Venus but strangely Venus doesn't aspect Mercury. So Mercury is not a child maybe.

Radix 4th house is how the marriage ends. Mars and Sun don't apply to Saturn. Sun is separating from Saturn. But Mercury is applying trine to Saturn from the 7th house. Venus is separating from Saturn but it applies conjunction to Uranus in 7th.
Mercury trines Saturn in 3 degrees and Venus conjuncts Urnaus in 3 degrees.
Moon is void in the beginning of the sign but later in sign it sextiles Jupiter and squares Saturn.
I think the marriage will end in 3 years. But again, all the angles are in fixed sign and early degrees. Venus is in fixed sign and early degree. So maybe they will be together.
Mars is at critical degree. Sun is in late degrees in fixed sign. Will he change and be more faithful later? I doubt because Mars enters it's fall and Sun enters Gemini which is a dual sign.

Horary Chart:

I asked today "Is he in love with someone else (an escort?)?

Scorpio rising, Taurus on the descendant. Venus is my friend, Mars is the husband. I use 7th house for friends, 11th doesn't work for me.

There is Uranus again in the 7th house. Venus is at critical degree, conjunct retrograde mercury and is combust the Sun. Venus has also opposed Saturn and Pluto. Basically Venus is in bad shape. This perfectly describes my friends current emotional state.
I don't know what exactly Saturn and Pluto are, I just assumed they are obstables and dissappointments that she has faced in her married life in the last 2 months. I could be totally wrong. Maybe Saturn is something else.
I also don't know what Uranus is doing in her house because she is definitely not considering divorce right now.
Mercury is her 5th house ruler. She is 29 and will be 30 in just a few months. She wanted to be pregnant before she turns 30. As far as I know, she is not pregnant. And also why is Mercury retrograde, if it shows pregnancy?

Sun is on MC. I took Sun as his co significator. If it's not his co significator then what could it be?

Mars is in no dignity of Venus. Mars is ruled by Sun and is in triplicity of Jupiter. Mars is separating a trine from Jupiter. He traveled to another country earlier this week, I suspected he was with someone. I think this trine is confirming that. Is he in love with Jupiter? I think he is..
I hope I am wrong!

Am I reading the event chart correctly? I read it like a horary. All angles are in fixed signs and early degree and planets are also in fixed signs, but Uranus should be significant too, right?

There was a ceremony before this, so perhaps this chart might not be the best to judge. But Sun and Venus the male and female significators remain the same anyways.

Am I wrong about the divorce in 3 years?

No, you do not read electional/event charts like a horary chart. In my opinion, the best use for event chart is planning, not predicting after the fact. You can definitely see general energy trends in an event chart but I personally do not think it works very well for predicting specifics of what will happen between two people (other than general energy trends) or even for predicting something like when the Titanic will sink. I have not seen anything reliable or compelling for that. Some people do try to use it like horary but it generally does not work well. I especially see that for missing people charts. I am sure there are astrologers who use missing person charts effectively but they don't read them like a horary chart.

Each chart type has its own purpose and electional charts are better at deciding the best time to do something, such as a wedding, or whether or not to replan something, such as a trip or job interview or important assessment test, etc. Was this the best time to begin a life together between these two people? We don't know their charts but on a basic energy level probably not, but I cannot say when they might break up from it, especially since most wedding event planners analyze the natal chart along with the event. The probability of a break up is likely high given some things already mentioned, though.

Some people attempt to use an event chart sort of like a natal chart where they look at significant transits that can show trouble or positives around what it represents, such as when a business started and when a business might boom or have trouble. For example, a chart emphasizing Uranus on an angle might have significant trouble when transit Mars aspects it with conjunction, etc. This is also used on a mundane level when looking at the event for something like when a country formed.

One problem with planning weddings is that you often have a short window due to the couple already having a general planned date range and you often have to choose the best chart given the circumstances but it might have some issues. No chart is perfect. If you are interested in learning more about electional charts there is an article by Frowley here (I would probably pick up some books on it though if you are serious about it):

https://www.skyscript.co.uk/electional.html

As Frawley rightly mentions, elections are like flying in the dark without the natal and it cannot promise something that does not already exist. He mentions the malefics not necessarily being bad depending on what they rule and their condition in the nativity, for example. I often focus on my strong Mars in specific election types, especially those requiring skill or career moves and it has been very beneficial in elections for me.

My best friend had me plan her wedding and her 7th contains both Mars and Saturn ill dignified, and her husband's own chart had the same conjunction with Saturn lording his 7th (and his conjunction is square Venus). This is not something I can fix but I tried to avoid emphasizing it as much as possible and the marriage lasted a long time and the beginning was happy. Unfortunately, we cannot make friends love or not love certain people.

Thanks Tanit. I tried to read the event chart because the other link you gave in your first post talked about the 4th house showing how the marriage will end and the 10th showing what happens in the marriage. So I thought I could apply that and read the rest like horary.
I read that link again and they also mention electing a chart with the help of the couple's natal chart.

The day I made my first post asking about Algol in the event chart, I was actually hoping to hear something like the marriage ending badly for the Man. Like him losing everything when this marriage ends. That's just wishful thinking..
I don't want her to just simply leave him, I want her to rip him off of all his money. That most probably wont happen because she didn't marry him for money. Also no law will give her half of his assets for a 3 year marriage.

They did not consult astrology when they set the wedding date. They don't believe in astrology. The marriage was rushed because he wanted to start a family with her. If she gets pregnant then it's because the pressure is from his side. She wanted to get pregnant before she turned 30 too, but that's just to avoid risks that come with pregnancies at a later age.

I also think the marriage will last long, but if it does end..I hope it costs him a lot of money. I was hoping that is what Algol is about..

Jupiterrising- yes, you can glean some general information from the energy of those houses in an election chart. For example, the US chart also has a 4th house that people try to analyze to see when or if the US will "end." In missing people event charts I believe the 4th is looked at to describe where a body might be located too, for example. Like I said, event charts are often sort of looked at almost like a natal chart where you can attempt to look at transits, progressions and other methods to predict future occurrences relative to the inherent nature of that chart. I generally think it is more straight forward to look at the natal charts, but that is just my opinion and you can try to look at example marriage election charts on the internet for more information on possible prediction methods, but I would be weary if it only analyzes the event chart and not the natal charts, which is more likely to be significant during an ending than anything else.

I will try. I am not good at reading natal and transits. That has never been my interest. I have always been interested in horary, and although I am interested, my knowledge of horary is so limited. So I doubt I will figure anything with the natal charts because of my total lack of knowledge in that area.

I know we didn't discuss the horary chart in this thread, but I noticed a lot of people had similar chart posted around the same time. So I thought this little update might help those who have similar charts. Then again, their questions and situation is very different from this.
Anyways I will give the update.

Exactly when Venus conjuncted Sun their relationship became more stronger and and they are happy now. This happened exactly when Venus conjuncted the Sun in real time.
