Hi All!

I know that my english is my debility :)

Let me question:
In the old astrological texts we see a mention about concrete degrees of planetary exaltation: one degree only (why? who know?), not whole of the sign. Why we use whole of the sign? Why not one degree... or the part of the sign, even though?
I.e.
from 1th up to 19th degree of Aries - for Sun
from 1th up to 3th degree of Taurus - for Moon
from 1th up to 27th degree of Pisces - for Venus
from 1th up to 28th degree of Capricorn - for Mars
from 1th up to 21th degree of Libra - for Saturn
from 1th up to 15th degree of Virgo - for Mercury
from 1th up to 15th degree of Cancer - for Jupiter

- how about it?

Special thanks for any practice example.

You're thinking of the exaltation degrees, that is, the degree of a planet's sign of exaltation at which it is super-exalted.

But don't get confused: a planet is exalted at any degree of that sign.

All major dignities and debilities are by whole sign, i.e. rulership, exaltation and triplicity.

Valens seems to imply that a planet does get stronger as it approaches the exaltation degree, and then somewhat weaker as it moves towards the degree of fall. This is in his treatment of the exaltation "Winds" in Book 3 of the Anthology. Although I do agree that a planet is exalted in the entire sign of exaltation. Its just that it gets even stronger the closer to the degree that it is. Vedic astrology shares a similar doctrine.
