Grand conj of 2000 1 by granny_skot was at about 22 degrees tau if I'm not mistaken, which Mars has rolled over recently and will roll over again 2 more times? (lost track of the rolls, may just be one more roll at this point)... Well the Full moon on the 15th of November will be at 23 Tau, I'm wondering if that might not also cause some issues? the sun in opposition, etc... Thought I'd bring it up since it seem to be an angle to watch right now. Granny Quote Mon Oct 24, 2005 4:29 pm
2 by Michelle GS, On 5/5/00 at noon Mars was at 00 Gemini. What about the Aug 11, 1999, fixed grand cross eclipse? I've heard that that eclipse is related to this one. Mars was at 17 Scorpio on that eclipse, so an opposition. Quote Mon Nov 14, 2005 6:24 pm
Grand conj of 2000 3 by jonflanery The Mars transits are certainly stimulating. In the original chart set for DC, I found the conjunction near the midheaven within a few degrees of Algol and square retrograde Uranus at 20 Aquarius which is about the perihelion of Halleys comet in '86. A close trine of the Sun in Gemini to nova 1987a at around 7 Aquarius is also of interest. This is one of the last earth sign Jupiter/Saturn conjunctions with an out of element conjunction in Libra in 1980 and the last earth sign conjunction due in 2020. I noticed that the Republicans came to power in 1980 with Ronald Reagan leading them and each time there is activity around 5-7 degrees Libra they seem to benefit. Just an observation but I think Jupiter was there for the 2004 election. These grand conjunctions are very important for mundane charts, especially the ones that mark the transition to a different element and those that are 'out-of-element'. Halley, whose effective period has passed and the Nova of 1987 which will be with us for some time to come along with the Air conjunction have certainly stirred the pot. I'm reminded of all those nasty things that are said about the Air element in regard to the suit of Swords in the Tarot. I do hope it runs out of gas soon. But, then we could experience this sort of thing to the Great Mutation when the conjunction firmly enters the Air signs in 2040 and through that cycle of about 200-240 years. How conservative a future do you think we have to look forward to ? The next conjunction in 2020 will be in Capricorn and the last of the earthy element for some 800 odd years. Do you think this will signal a major change in the World financial system, burst the real estate bubble, or signal the entrenchment of a financial plutocracy ? But then, Capricorn squares Libra and maybe things will begin to be set right, whatever that means. Just curious as to your thougts ? I have yet to look at it in much depth. 4 by granny_skot Ouch I think I'm going ot have nightmares for weeks. I would hope that air signs would bring more enlightenment not conservative constriction. I guess I'll have ot have a look. Granny Quote Thu Nov 17, 2005 4:17 pm
5 by granny_skot was looking over 2020 briefly and must say that the conj throughout that year of Saturn and Jupiter with Pluto in CAP looks frightening and when they do finally conj each other at 0 Aqu, its with hard square to Uranus in taurus, a fixed square also looks pretty ugly. I would think Cap is a more conservative sign than Aquarius, but perhaps I"m missing something. I didn't see a lot in the way of contacts with 7 libra there so if that is indeed a trigger perhaps it passes with what tom calls the Leo generation? Granny Quote Thu Nov 17, 2005 7:01 pm
6 by yuzuru The relationship between the element air in astrology, the sanguine temperament, is very different than the tarot cards of swords, so don?t worry, they don?t relate. the real estate bubble is such a small business in the universe that will, as any speculative bubble, burst at the first eclipse or hard lunation that hit the US. The transition of the elements is in general related to the change of power between nations and kings, so probably signs power changing from US and Europe to china. The grand conjunction may represent a change in the world systems, as feudalism being destroyed by capitalism, now capitalism will be changed into ... ? But of course none of us will live to see this. We probably we will se only transitory effects, like folks in middle aged had to go through black plague to permit the destruction of the old regim Quote Thu Dec 15, 2005 8:14 pm
7 by granny_skot Just thought I'd re-kindle this thread. Mars will hit the Jupiter Saturn Conj on 31 Jan, and hits Algol about the 10th of Feb, wondering what things might happen throughout that period. Mars finally leaves Taurus on the 18th of Feb, for some reason this reminds me of the old saying "The night is always darkest, just before the dawn." Well Just thought I'd see if I could spark some theorhetical interest. Granny Quote Fri Jan 20, 2006 7:19 pm
8 by gemini sungirl hi folks Granny S -I think you are on to something here. Mars stationed rx at 23 Taurus so within a 1 degree orb of the grand conjunction from what I remember. I notice that the fixity of the recent grand square is still hanging on in places, so I for one am hoping that Mars transiting past this point feb 4th and into mutable Gem on feb 18th will release the remains of what needs to go.... gsg The importance and unimportance of the self cannot be exaggerated - Reginald Blyth Quote Sat Jan 28, 2006 9:47 am
9 by granny_skot Thanks, I'm actually taking a lead from Tom C. on this list who was concentrating on this point a while back. I noticed the trend and started a watch for transits to 23 Tau, its been interesting! Granny Quote Mon Jan 30, 2006 8:58 pm
