Death of David Pingree

1
Sadly, David Pingree died last Friday.

The astrological tradition owes a huge debt to Pingree. Without him we would have no access to the work of Dorotheus and countless other texts that have helped to further our understanding of ancient and classical technique. Nick Campion has commented on the Higher Ed website:

"David Pingree?s contribution to the history of astronomy and astrology, and to the history of ideas, was monumental. The chronological and geographical scope of his work, from Babylonian cuneiform texts, to Helenistic Greek, Arabic, Iranian and Sanskit was immense."
