Saudi-Egypt Ferry Disaster

1
I?ve found conflicting reports of the relevant times for the ferry disaster that occurred between Saudi Arabia and Egypt last Thursday, involving the al-Salam Boccaccio '98.

According to the BBC website the ferry departed the port of Duba, Saudi Arabia at 7:00pm (local time) and the explosion happened about 2 hours into the journey with the ferry sinking within about 10 minutes of the explosion.

This is the chart for the departure based on that information. If anyone obtains more precise or reliable information on the departure or the time of the explosion please let me know. This chart certainly has all the signatures we expect to see in a chart for such a dreadful event.

Yes, this is a bit of a problem because I have differing reports also. I looked at this on the weekend and at one stage a report had the ferry leaving at about 8am and sinking 16 hours later. It apparently sank a few hours after the fire broke out. I wasn't aware that there was an explosion. Apparently the captain refused to turn back. The Guardian has the ferry leaving at 7:30pm and sinking somewhere between midnight and 2am. Most reports have said early hours of the morning so I take this to be reasonably accurate.
