Total lunar eclipse 9 Nov 1 by Deb There is a total lunar eclipse at 16.13 Aries, which begins shortly before midnight (GMT) on 8 November, so it?s ideal for viewing in Britain. BBCi website reports: The Moon enters the main shadow of the Earth just after 11.30pm [GMT] on 8 November. You'll notice the top-left part of the Moon beginning to darken then. Our satellite is completely in the Earth's shadow by about 1.05am, where it stays for about 12 minutes before moving out of the other side. The eclipse is over by 3.05am. This eclipse sees one of the smallest Full Moon's of the year.
