September 11, 2007 Eclipse

1
On Tuesday, September 11, 2007 there will be an eclipse that occurs very close to the actual time of the attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001 in New York. The attacks on the Pentagon and the downed aircraft in Pennsylvania occurred later on that morning.

I'm interested in the viability of the USA chart set for:

March 18, 1762
Washington, DC
4:41 PM GMT

This is the Jupiter Saturn Conjunction that occurred prior to US Independence. I know that Washington DC did not exist in 1762, but casting the chart for New York City hardly changes it. NYC in 1762 is a logical choice for the capital of the then fledgling nation.

The course I'm going to follow is to look for similarities to the above in subsequent charts, and for similarities among the subsequent charts. The idea is that repetition (not only duplication, but other ways as well) brings about the promise of the previous chart(s). As indicated this will be a bit chart heavy.

We'll start with the Conjunction of 1980. There were three I think and we'll stick with the first one.

December 31, 1980
4:26 PM EST (9:26 PM GMT)
Washington DC
4 Cancer rises

Notice the angles are in the same signs as the 1762 conjunction. The degrees are also close. The Sun - Mercury conjunction is conjunct the 1762 Moon, and therefore squares the 1762 conjunction itself. Aspects to the conjunction indicate events that might have general or at least widespread effects, as this aspect is the same throughout the world. Aspects, and repetitions of angles however pin the events to the specific location. If we get enough action on the angles at Washington, it is not unreasonable to expect nationwide effects as Washington DC is the US Capitol.

We know what the 1980s brought - the end of he cold war, but the seeds for future events are in this chart as well and the indications of when they will be brought to fruition will be shown in future charts.

September 11, 2001 Event
8:46 AM EDT
NY, NY

The nodal axis falls on the ASC - DSC axis of the 1980 conjunction. The Sun at 18 Virgo falls on the 1762 IC. Mars god of war has just entered the sign of his exaltation, and (I scarcely believe I am going to write this - but this is not the traditional forum) he is in a partile conjunction with the 1762 Pluto.

Why not the 2000 Grand conjunction? Not yet. These things unfold slowly and the 9/11 attacks occurred less than 18 months after the 2000 conjunction, so for now we'll work with 1980.

Partial Solar Eclipse
September 11, 2007
8:44 am
New York, NY
11 Libra 24 rises

Solar Fire gives 8:31 AM, which is probably maximum obscurity. The above time is for exact conjunction. This is a bit eerie, but explainable. The time above is two minutes less than the time of day usually given for the first attack. So the angles and position of the Sun and therefore the eclipse are about the same as those on the day of the attack. But this isn't a prearranged event. It is a solar eclipse. It occurs on a Tuesday as well, and the attacks occurred on a Tuesday.

Mercury in this chart is in partile conjunction to the 1980 conjunction point. He is also tightly conjunct the ASC as he was in 2001. The eclipse point is in partile conjunction to the 1762 IC, which is less than five degrees from the 1980 IC. The eclipse point and the 2001 event Sun falls on the antiscion of the 1762 conjunction itself, which is the DSC of the eclipse chart when cast for NY. The 7th is often associated with war and antiscion is behind the scenes activity.

What is striking is that the eclipse does not appear to be picking up anything of the 2000 grand conjunction that occurred at 22 Taurus. That chart

Grand Conjunction 2000
May 28, 2000
12:04 PM EDT
Washington, DC

Has all the classic planets above the horizon. The angles are not picking up anything of previous grand conjunctions. The only connection I saw was the nodal axis falls exactly on the 2nd house ? 8th house axis of the 1980 conjunction. From this I conclude that the 2000 conjunction will manifest through lesser charts or lesser events than those put in motion on September 11, 2001. We would have to find the relevant charts and they might be in grand conjunction charts we have not considered.

As for September 11, 2007, it is highly unlikely that any event will occur on precisely that day. It?s not impossible of course, but I think it unlikely. The eclipse is more of a starting point to understand subsequent events. We would have to check lunations and transits that occur between that date and the next eclipse, Feb 7, 2008, to try to pinpoint an actual date and perhaps place of an event. That is more work than I?m willing to do tonight.

Something t think about: one pundit has opined, and admitted it is purely his opinion, not based on any inside information, that G.W. Bush will not leave office with a nuclear Iran. If this is the case, and for now it is pure speculation, we can safely assume Iran will not give up any nuclear weaponry either functional or in production, voluntarily. This leaves military attack as the only way to accomplish this alleged goal. W?s time in office is growing shorter and will end, via Constitutional Law, on January 20, 2009.

There are other possibilities for the meaning of the upcoming eclipse, but the 2007 eclipse point falling on both the 1762 conjunction point by antiscion and that point being the 7th house of the eclipse, indicate, at least superficially, more war. Iran is simply the most logical candidate for the open enemy indicated by the DSC. A look at Iran?s chart would be worthwhile, too.

If anyone is interested, a look at the other grand conjunctions that occurred in 1980 and 2000 are probably worth a peek using the 1980 and 1762 charts for basic reference.

Any comments would be appreciated.

Tom

Tom --

the US guvmint in its ineffable wisdom has scheduled General Petraeus (remarkable how it rhymes with betray us) to present his take on Iraq on 9/11/07

I'd say "what were they thinking" but they obviously weren't thinking

The best place for the Solar Eclipse to fall?

3
Hi Folks,

The best place for the Solar Eclipse to fall?

What's your feeling about

1/ Lunar Eclipses ? = End of things

2/ Solar Eclipses ? = Beginning of things

3/ A Solar Eclipses on Jupiter in Virgo would suggest good fortune but reduced in affect by Jupiter's detriment.

Of course the house location would have to be considered.

4/ Solar Eclipse on somebodies birthday would be (very) beneficial I'd have thought.

5/ Where would the most excellent place to have this Solar Eclipse fall in a chart do you think.

On the NN ? (probably alone no)

On NN conjunct Jupiter or Sun or Pluto ?

On NN conjunct Asc or MC.

Or 2nd house cusp

Or rulers of the above.

STOP.

H.

PS It is not exactly on Tom's theme but didn't to start a thread with the same title.
Yikkes!

Nice read on Sept 11th eclipse

Hello! I am new here, and found your thread very interesting. What I noticed from the Sept 11th eclipse is that there is a mars opp Pluto with mars in Gemini and similar one for the Feb 21, 2008 Lunar Eclipse in Virgo. Seems like there is some kind of parallel there or maybe it should be that way. I found it interesting that Mars in Gemini is recurring so soon, usually that takes time to come around again.

Any comments???

September 2007 Eclipse & Autumn 2007 Transits

5
Good lead post Tom. I've looked at this coming September eclipse about three or so years ago, and expect this particular partial eclipse at 18-VIRGO to play out on the national & global stage in the fall season of this year (2007) and into the early winter season of this year, and into 2008.

I urge everyone reading this to take the time to plan for making any positive changes that they can, and to bring to an end any conventional barriers which may have acted as barriers towards making progress. These mundane transits are difficult for most this fall season ~ particularly as Saturn is rising and will be Lord of the months of October & November, with strong influences into December.

The autumn season will be very rough, and will lead to a muted holiday season by December. Those who can read an ephemeris will know that using the time now in late August, and the month of September well can forstall, and neutralize much of the later influences to come in October, November and December.

According to my calculations, times are changing, and we are heading into a new era that precedes the coming of the next decade of the 2010s. With Pallas now retrograde in Pisces, and contra-parallel to Uranus, while both near to the transiting North Lunar Node in Pisces ~ use this time to prepare for the next six-to-seven years overall. Doing so will save much time, energy, and in some cases, lives.

If you look at the New Moon transit for September 2007 for the east coast, NY, and Washington, you'll see that Mars is on the MC in Gemini and is situated between tow fixed stars ~ ALDEBERAN AND BELLATRIX. Transiting Mars will be moving toward conjunction with BETELGEUSE, situated at 28-GEMINI.

Applying Placidus Houses, the MC for the September 2007 New Moon is conjoined to BELLATRIX ~ a negative event will take place, worldwide news in the fall season months of September, October, November, and December 2007.

Looking at the transits of October, November, and December, one can see how the stakes are rising. It will be a combination of events taking place around the world, with the Middle East, Iraq, and Iran, highlighted.

HIGHLIGHTED:

War news - escalations, societal stress, pitched battles
Economic - destabilizations, setbacks, re-adjustments, corruption news
Culture - stresses, seperations, pressures, dark moods, mental health issues, depressions

Climate/Weather - anomalous events, droughts, heavy rains, floods, oppressive heat and sudden cool downs

The autumn months will reflect Saturn's coming influences with its ingress into tropical Virgo in early September. The generation born in 1979/1980/1981 are about to experience their first Saturn Returns.

This coming fall season's weather will be dark, cloudy, wet and cold, reflecting Saturn's building influences as it rises ahead of the Sun. Grey skies, and a depressive climate conditions will prevail in October and November, leading to a toned-down holiday season in December.

Moreover, the battles highlighted by the present and onging Mars/Jupiter opposition and the coming Mars retrograde in November, and re-emergence into tropical Gemini on Dec. 31, 2007, indicates stressful, and violent events. A major military escalation is highlighted by these transits. I have no doubt that the U.S. will become involved in another major war with a new nation heading into early 2008.

Transiting Mars retrograde, especially in Gemini, and near to the constellation Orion indicates a sharp rise in military events. We will see heightening tensions that are the combined results of the failures of a certain generation to restrain itself ~ epecially under these transits. However, those in power rarely listen to the guidance of those who are able to read and intepret transits. Nonetheless, the transits will arrive ~ and as always ~ on time.

We also see transiting Saturn hovering very close to the Dragon's Tail in tropical Virgo for all of the fall season and into the winter of 2008. This is another sign of malefic global events starting next month (September) and continuing into early 2008.

This hovering around the South Lunar Node in early Virgo has very strong influences for the world. It is wholly malefic, and during the third week of October 2007, Venus & Saturn conjoin for the third (and last) time in four (4) months in the month of October ~ with the Dragon's Tail. This is a negative conjunction, and I would urge caution in travel, relationships, and major decisions at this time.

For women, it is important to take the time to guard oneself physically and emotionally, without attracting violence to oneself. The Venus/Saturn conjunction conjoined to the Dragon's Tail does not bode well for personal relationships. Note that Mars will have entered tropical Cancer at the end of Sept. '07 and will hover here for months before turning retrograde mid-Nov. '07. This again highlightes personal relationships.

It is best to avoid arguments; especially over money, economics, relationships, etc., considering the recent credit crunch, the severe downturns in the housing markets, and the increasing foreclosures nationwide.

Jupiter in Sagittagius has driven prices up. Saturn's entry into Virgo will drive prices down, to bargain basement levels, but with a price, as mundane transits indicate a period of rough economic times during the fall of 2007 and into 2008. Families are hurting financially. It is important at this time heading into the fall and winter seasons to network with others, and to be of help by combining resources and being of assistance to those in need.

The best way to neutralize this fall's transits is to prepare to navigate them in advance without resorting to inflicting, or, taking part in personal projections onto others, personal/professional dramas which Saturn can crystalize into reality ~ which can turn into violent confrontations that can change destinies.

Rather, better to navigate these transits with a low-profile, calm, and orderly outlook towards the coming new era that starts in mid-December 2007, and picks up speed in January 2008. Those who take the time to prepare for 2008's transits now, will be better positioned to deal with the developing and fast-paced events that take place from 2008 to 2011.

While at the mundane level, Venus represents society, and the conjunction to Saturn & the South Lunar Node in early Virgo reflects the general depressive tone of this particular season highlighted by the September eclipse at 18-Virgo. It also reflects the coming Saturn-Uranus opposition piting the old against the new ~ conservative (Saturn) against the radical (Uranus).

Saturn is moving out of its year-long opposition to Neptune, and preparing for its long-running opposition to Uranus in the years 2008-2011, as well as its coming earth trine to Jupiter (2008) and then opposition to Jupiter (2010-11).

This indicates a major shifting of the general public's sense of rights and wrongs, and a serious turn of events in the public's mood as well. With 2008 being an election year ~ things are about to get very nasty, according to these mundane transit. In effect, people are pissed, and the world transits will fuel these strong emotions from frustrations and disapointments of the recent past leading back to the year 2000/2001.

This eclipse at 18-VIRGO on September 11, 2007 will bring back very painful memories of the events of Set. 11, 2001, and, moreover, will set into stone anger and resentment at those whom the people (represented by Venus) think is to blame.

Moreover, the mundane transits clearly indicate that the blame for the economic pressures on families nationwide, including the pressures of war, and everything else that people feel should not be taking place will leak into 2008 in a major way.

Saturn's entry into Virgo in early September, it's conjunction with Venus, and the Dragon's Tail in mid-October '07, and Saturn's coming opposition to Uranus along the Pisces/Virgo axis from 2008 to 2011 is pure mayhem in the sense of outrage. Much of what is to come will remind people of the public demostrations of the late 1960s and the early 1970s.

In late 2008, and 2009 ~ there's a lot of action between Saturn & Uranus around the 18,19,20, 21st, and 22nd decgrees of Virgo and Pisces. This reflects the length of time of action from the coming Sept. 11, 2007 eclipse at the 18-degree of VIRGO.

As the Lunar Nodes decline along the Pisces/Virgo axis they begin a new era in mid-December 2007 where a number of important ingresses take place. We've already seen the start of several of them this month of August and these ingresses will continue into early 2008 ~ ending with the coming Venus-Jupiter conjunction in tropical Capricorn at the end of January and in early February 2008:

AUGUST 2007 - months of signs & warnings

Aug. 6/7 - Jupiter stations direct over fixed star ANTARES
Aug. 6/7 - Mars entered Gemini
Aug. 18 - Venus turned to Morning Star
Aug. 28 - Lunar Eclipse at 4-PISCES

September 2007 - a major event month

Sept. 2 - Saturn enters VIRGO
Sept. 5 - Mercury turns S in declination
Sept. 7 - Pluto stations direct
Sept. 8 - Venus stations direct
Sept. 11 - New Moon, partial eclipse Sun/Moon 18-VIRGO

*October 2007 - major event month

Note: The transiting Lunar Node, the Dragon's head will make a conjunction with the Synetic Vernal Point from October 15 to Oct. 29 ~ this is a very sensitive astronomical point that indicates a major changes in life paths for many millions of people.

Oct. 9 - Jupiter square Uranus, exact
Third Week of October - Venus/Saturn/Dragon's Tail Conjoin
Oct. 31 - Halloween, Neptune stations direct

November 2007 - month of recovery, seeking balance

Nov. 11 - Venus turns S in declination
Nov. 14/15 - Mars retrograde at 15-CANCER
Nov. 23/24 - Uranus stations direct

December 2007 - major event month, endings & new beginnings

The effects of the Sept. 11, 2007 eclipse are set to take place in this month from Dec. 9 to Dec. 31.

Dec. 11 - Jupiter conjoins Pluto near Glactic Center
Dec. 17/18 - Lunar Nodes change quality from mutable to fixed (until Aug. 2009)

Dec. 18 - Jupiter enters tropical Capricorn
Dec, 19 - Saturn stations retrograde
Dec. 31 - Mars re-enters tropical Gemini

January & February 2008 - major event months

*Note - Jan. & Feb. '08 are busy months. Mercury, Mars, Uranus & Pluto are very active in relation to the Moon's transits. The global events at this time are directly related to the previous transits and eclipse of Sept. 2007.

Jan. 21 - Jupiter trine Saturn
Jan. 30 - Mars stations direct at 24-GEMINI
Feb. 1 - Venus conjoins Jupiter 9-CAPRICORN

Conclusions ~
The transits from August 2007 to mid-December 2007 reflect a serious, and emotionally draining time for many people due to the transit conditions. Virgo and Pisces are highlighed.

As mutable signs, and with Jupiter already transiting the mutable Sagittarius, along with Saturn entering the mutable Virgo, the New Moon and eclipse of September 11, 2007 clearly show rough waters ahead ~ particularly the fall months to mid-December 2007, when conditions lead to a new era that opens the period 2008-2011 ~ stressing the coming Saturn/Uranus opposition along the Pisces/Virgo axis ~ it is a time of radical changes butting heads with conservative outlooks.

The eclipse of September 11, 2007 shows that the need for change must be acknowledged in real, seen progress during the lead-up to 2008, or a societal revolution will emerge in the years leading to the decade of the 2010s.

This is a time of major changes for the world and in the lives of billions of people. It is advised for those who understand transits and astrologers who give guidance to help others to navigate them, to begin to do so now, just before the onset the autumn equinox in mid-September, and if able, before the New Moon of September 11, 2007. In this way, the transits of autumn 2007 are neutralized while goals can be set, and met to take advantage of the calming, and practical Jupiter-Saturn trine of 2008 and the transits that take all of us into the challenging decade of the 2010s.

The alignments of the 1762 chart are what Linda Reid Calls Thors Hammer, I do believe? Saturn must be one of the weilders so applies. Though I can't seem to find the article, possibly Deb recalls where it might be.

Another thing I wonder, is that you say that the Eclipse is a starting point, why starting? why not ending? after all it is an eclipse? just a thought, its always brought endings in my experience.

for instance until 9/11/2001 America felt itself fairly safe from exterior attack of any great nature probably since the end of the cold war, and if we were to be attacked we would have thought of one of the larger powers, like China or Russia, certainly not a small obnoxious terrorist group. (I speak of America in general, not people who study the problem, and who had actually been following the problem) So it was an End to that delusional thought. Well as I see it.

I suppose I could hope for an end of the rule by fear mentality but I suppose that is expecting to much... sigh just a few thoughts.

you might also have a look at the barely 2020 Grand Conj which occures on 22 dec at 0 Aqu 30.7 , what a happy solctice/Saturnalis/Yule/Christmas,etc... that should be...

The end of one era is the beginning of another. I should explain what I meant though. I'm looking at the sequence of charts. In this case it goes like this:

The base chart is the 1762 Grand Conjunction.
The next chart is the Grand conjunction of 1980, the beginning of the end of the cold war and the rise of radical Islam as the "movement" that filled the vacuum left by the decline of the power of the USSR.

The next chart (that I did not mention) is the eclipse of September 11, 1988, the one associated with the rise or beginning of operations by Al Queda.

There are connections between this chart, the 1980 conjunction and the 1762 chart. If you wish to call this the end of a particular period in America, that's OK, but it is also the beginning of a newer era different enemy, different kind of war etc.

The September 11, 2001 event chart is also a beginning of sorts, the beginning of a war. But it is an event chart only. So the next major chart in this period with connections to the 1980 and 1762 chart is the eclipse of September 11, 2007. This probably isn't the end of the war on terror, or the war in Iraq (although it could be) or American dominance or whatever else someone thinks it means, but the next chapter in the events that began in 1980. It is a beginning or the seeds planted for a new series of events perhaps indicated by transits and lunations that connect the 1762, 1980, and 1988 charts mentioned above.

When we look at a the prenatal eclipse we are looking for seeds planted in the nativity that will come later. We look at eclipses that precede events not the ones that come after.

I understand that the visual symbolism of either the Sun's light or the Moon's light being blocked is indicative of an ending, but as I said above, all endings are really beginnings.

Pluto at 0 degrees

8
Hello again, thank you Theo for that helpful astrological information, but I have a question to you or Tom or anyone on the list, but looks like Pluto will be at the critical degree of 0 Cardinal sign of Capricorn in February 2008 the same time of these events. How do you think this will effect everyone?

9
I have a question to you or Tom or anyone on the list, but looks like Pluto will be at the critical degree of 0 Cardinal sign of Capricorn in February 2008
You're asking me about Pluto? You must be new. Welcome to Skyscript; it's good to have you. Since Zero Cardinal is not a critical point in any of the charts I've discussed, I don't think it will have any effect. Others, undoubtedly, will disagree.

All the best,

Tom

Pluto, just a general thought on the matter. Pluto entered the fire Sign of Sagitarius in November of 95,
1995

10 November the iraqi disarmament crisis
10 November in Nigeria 8 people from the Ogoni survival group are hanged
14 november US government temporarily closes down over budget disagreement.
16 November UN charges lays Genocide charges against milsovic
(note Switzerland is having its own xenophobic crisis at this time)
22 November Rosemary West sentenced to life in prison
22 november a 7.2 earthquake strikes the Mediteranean.

The Iraq crisis I think has a begining several centuries ago, so possibly only connected to the transit loosely, though may have intensified do to that transit.
So many Genocidal issues coming to a head at once make me wonder if this is not a pluto transiting to new sign issues.

I dont think Pluto is very compatible with Sagitarius, Pluto is so Saturnian in Nature, but transiting into SAturns home of Capricorn, possibly we can see more the steady regenerative side of Pluto?

Tom might notice that in January of 1762, the year of the grand conjunction that starts the cycle of interest, Pluto slipped from Sag to Cap. and slips into Aquarius (the regenerative side of Saturn) in 1778/79 tearing down to build up. So here again, Pluto slips into Cap before a marker in this cycle. again in winter. just a thought!

(though Saturn was still in contrary Scorpio in 1778, which rather describes the fighting mode of the time I think)

Saturn will be in the earthy sign of Virgo this time round, having just left its detriment, which makes me wonder if regeneration of Earth wont be our paramount focus of interest begining 2008? possibly business and politics will seriously join the save our habitat party? though that would surprise me since I'm not seeing a huge effort in that arena as yet.

And before that 1516 coinciding with the reformation era. though the Printing press and beginning exploration era took place during the Sag pass, and end of Scorpio pass. so the break down of impairment to communication preceded the creation of new modes of thought, and unfortunately a whole lot of war. As it was this change that started the Inquisition and all kinds of insane persecution and war (though i do wander if overpopulation was not also a factor at this time? I also wonder if overpopulation isn't part of the xenophobic issues?)

being a bit of rebel thinker I'm rather fond of this era in some ways.

so looking at a few of those Cap transitions, I'd say there is some rebuilding to do, and i wont be the least bit surprised if that includes a stomping down on genocide. Just appears to be a running theme besides human habitat.

okay now if we start in on Pluto i suspect Tom will wish us to take the discussion elsewhere, possibly we can have a side discussion on same Mundane forum? Though i really think you can't chat about Pluto without chatting about Saturn, I think of Pluto/charon as a booster for Saturn.

This is not the tradtional forum. Anything goes unless the moderator says otherwise.
