Upcoming eclipses & Venus

1
I've been getting up early over the last few days so I've been able to catch sight of Venus, which is really beautiful and brilliant at the moment, best observed around 6-6:30 am. The Moon will be pulling into conjunction over the next couple of days.

We also have the partial solar eclipse on 14 Oct and a total lunar eclipse on 28th Oct. This will be the last total eclipse visible in Europe until 2007. It occurs on the hunter's Moon (the Full Moon following September's Harvest Moon), so the Moon will be large and prominent. I'm not sure how old the phrase 'hunter's moon' is, but I quite like the fact that it refers to the Moon opposing the Sun in Scorpio.
