What Evangeline Adams Knew

1
What Evangeline Adams Knew is the title of a new book that tackles the subject of Adams' techniques. Adams (1868-1932) promised such a work but died before writing it. She was a tireless promotor of astrology (and herself) and brought astrology to millions with a weekly radio show. She is credited with some some spectacular predictions with a greater or lesser degree of accuracy, but she did predict US involvement in WWII within a month or so and given her dates above, one has to be impressed with that.

Adams' biographer Karen Chirstino separated a lot of fact and fiction in her work Forseeing the Future (One Reed Publications, 2001, $14.95). She is now giving us Adams' techniques including, one suposes her idea of The New Horary and the mysterious "accidental ascendant." Adams is well worth knowing and essential if one is interested in early 20th century astrology in the US.
