http://www.geocities.com/athens/oracle/ ... kezod2.htm mentions the crocodile being used as a symbol for Scorpio, instead of the scorpion. As does http://philologos.org/__eb-mazzaroth/mizraim.htm

http://home.maine.rr.com/imyunnut/Den.Round.html#ftn13 mentions a crocodile marking one of the decanates in the Denderah zodiac.

You can find a theosophical take on this in Blavatsky's Secret Doctrine, see http://www.sacred-texts.com/the/sd/sd1-2-10.htm for one reference. Here the crocodile is given as a symbol for Capricorn.

The problem is that ancient Egypt covers a vast amount of time and a vast number of people. At different times, in different places, the crododile represents slightly different things. And that's without even considering the half lion, half crocodile symbol. And in earlier periods we are talking about a zodiac that we today wouldn't even recognise as such.

Hope that helps,

Kim
