NE entering Pisces: observations

1
Neptune will soon enter Pisces, back home again. It will return back into Aquarius for a while and in 2012 have its definite ingress.
Some observations:

The last ingress was in 1848:
Revolution in parts of Europe (Italy, France, Germany) / Marx published his Communist Manifest - birth of socialism
Hundreds of thousands (mostly Germans) left Europe, emigrated to the USA

one step back - 1685:
In that year Louis XIV forbade protestantism. A huge number of Protestants left France, went to the Netherlands and to Germany (one reason for the Revolution 100 years later)

one more step back
1521
The climax of the Reformation. Martin Luther facing Karl V (Carlos/Charles V), the German-Spanish Emperor. Just one year later: the beginning of social upheavals in Germany- Germany on the brink to a Civil War: the peasants rise, fighting for freedom and justice.
Also in those years. the collapse of the Aztec Kingdom.
Beginning of Spanish settlements in America.

some more steps back:
375
NE moving into Pisces is usually accompanied by social revolutions - often linked with problems of religion (faith, belief...).
In 375 the Huns began attacking the Roman Empire, thus provoking the Migration of the Peoples that finally brought about the end of the (West-)Roman Empire.

I do think we will have parallels soon: masses of migrants e.g. from Arabia (beginning with Tunisia, Egypt...). And there will probably be a comeback of socialist ideas (?).

HI I'm very interested in this subject. For starters this is the first time since discovery that it has graced Pisces, and of course modern astrology gives it rulership. Surely we will get to see whether there is any merit in that. Personally never been 100% about either the co rule of Neptune or Uranus's co rulership.. And then of course I like probably most here use Jupiter as ruler , I just see some kind of "affinity" or co rule for Neptune (but not sure about wnere that affinity lies).

It seems wholy appropriate that in your examples above, emigres were following their dreams to travel to far distant new lands, under that Jupiterian rulership of Pisces.
It is noticeable that Neptune's last domicile in Jupiter's realm with SAG was perhaps more benign that it's subsequent Saturnian period. It seems to that in Aquarius we have gone through a period of social instability and deep irrational fear at work in the heart of society, typified by all these Neptunian bogey-men, like the "Suicide bomber".

Others have noted the shaping of music trends in popular western culture with Neptune's transit, perhaps in Pisces some kind of move away from the mechanistic/technical , and "group conformity" towards a far stranger form, or emphasis on chant or cyclical song?

Hi,
I think that Neptune is kept on a more or less tight rein by Jupiter.
By including JU a lot more evidence can be found:
e.g. 1848: JU in Cancer: in the 1848 revolution that I mentioned above people were mainly concerned with national ideas and identities

1685: JU in Scorpio - religion and faith were put under pressure

1521: JU in SAG. - the reformation Sag. - religious belief

375: JU in Aries conj Pluto - the beginning of the powerful Migration of Peoples.

I have added the 1521 ingress (related to the roots of Reformation, Wittenberg). I think this chart is quite impressive.

The exact date of the Communist Manifesto publication is an interesting chart to look at:

Neptune at 0 Pisces, conjunct Sun at 2 Pisces.

21st Feb 1848 London.

In that chart though you've got a detriment Mars square this conjunction and also a detriment and fall Mercury conjunct Saturn. Not everything that this document promised was good, I would say that that Mars has played itself out through history.

Most will argue that this document along with what it spawned and what were its sequels, was the most powerful influence on modern history.

Jupiter rules Pisces.

Yet it has been established that Neptune as a planet inclines towards sensitivity and has symbolism associated with Pisces and water. Clearly then, this transit should be harmonious.

On a mundane level, Pisces rules secluded and quiet places. I see a lot of beauty in this transit, in the arts and in music. It will surely be a strong cultural influence.

But I'd like to agree with posts on here which suggest a strong religious tone.

We might simply look back to the period of the 1970s and early 80s during the period of Neptune in Sagittarius. The Islamic Revolution is said to have begun under that influence in 1979.

That is interesting. I wish I had more time at the moment for astrology, to look at such things.

However I though I'd just take the time to drop an alternative perspective in to the mix. I seem to diverge from the mainstream of astrologers by not seeing Neptune as universally delightful.

I agree wholeheartedly with its attributions, and have no problems with its positive one. It is indeed all fantastic if all the world wants to do is sleep, dream, meditate, listen to music and exist in a timeless haze. However, when combined with the practicalities of anything, with goals and time delimited objectives, I see Neptune as being a dis-enabler, contributing only inertia, fruitless enterprise and disallusionment. Especially when square Mars.

In this respect I think it does sum up the problems with the experience of communism- the manifesto is idealogically sound ( much as the US declaration of Independence under the same square aspect is) but the practical application just doesn't result in anything concrete and workable.

Lets not ignore that exalted Venus in Pisces which surely is also having an influence just now.

Hi all, I've been wondering whether Neptune into Pisces would bring to light mysteries of deep space in a way that has a profound impact, and on a more "down to earth " level whether Fear of the Unknown and irrationality may play a role in connection with these matters. RIght Now we have a huge wave of irrational nonsense floating around linking Comet Elenin (discovered by a Russian astronomer last year, and due to reach its closest point to us early AUtumn this year. People seem to want to believe its a brown dwarf or that it will come perilously close to us, or in fact they dredge up the Old Niburu chestnut again.

In fact its already being photographed by astronomers (including non US etc just to put paid to the "NASA coverup conspiracy stuff ) and studied by radar, and surprise surprise it is a comet!!! In contrast to the mad rantings its actual closest approach to the earth is crudely speaking, at about 100 times the Moon's orbit or almost as far as Venus ie at 34,000,000 KM , Venus is 38,000, 000 km .

So I guess the way this story is taking hold is Neptune/Pisces related?? Looking forward to many other strange cults to come!
