In certain occult tradiitions it is suggested that the meaning of the stars, moon and planets was first obtained through just such contemplation by rishii's and adepts of ancient times, and that from such contemplation the cosmic principles "behind the stars", became known to the human species.

Thanks for the lovely picture Ren?. I've been too lazy these weeks to get up early to look for Mercury, but I've been seeing the other planets for months now.

And indeed this contemplation feels right, when looking in the skies for hours your state of mind alters. At least, we astrologers should have a look at the bodies of the planets themselves from time to time, if only because of preventing the ephemeris being a 'dead' list of numbers.

I had to work early on thursday and friday and saw the planets in your picture. Eclipses and ocultations are wonderful to watch as well. The make the solar system look so much closer to home.
