Demetra George: Astrology and the authentic self 1 by Deb I am preparing to publish Joseph Crane's review of this book, which was published by Ibis Press in 2008. If anyone else has read it and wishes to comment, (or if you want to comment on Joseph Crane's review) please do - I'll be linking this thread so that any comments will appear at the end of the review page. 3 by Nixx The end of the book contains a brief Bibliography. From the modern period, the last 100 years or so, a few of Dane Rudhyar's books and some of the authors are listed. When George starts discussing 'modern' astrology in detail she writes : ' The notion that planets are better than others in the chart due to their condition stands in stark contrast to the modern psychological model in which every planet is equal in its capacity to bring about the matters it represents ? albeit in different ways'. (p34/5). Is this Rudhyar's Theosophical approach? No Psychological Author's are listed in the bibliography! Is it perhaps Evolutionary, Uranian, Tylian...? Is it anybodies notion or a myth? Crane identifies some similar concerns about how some traditional ideas are being represented, pointing out the lack of direct references. However in the bibliography significantly more are at least listed. A useful reminder to scan the Bibliography before getting out the credit card. Quote Sun Dec 11, 2011 12:11 pm
