I just learned of the passing of Noel Tyl at 11:11 today, his 84th birthday. Noel was a prolific writer of astrology texts, and a tireless promoter of the art. He was Harvard educated and a successful opera singer before he came to astrology. He certainly made his mark on our art. RIP

This is very sad news. Noel Tyl accompanied so many of us on astrological journeys, through several decades of dedicated study and enjoyment. Dying on his birthday seems like his final word on the subject, delivered with a wink and a salute. My thanks and blessings to you, Mr. Tyl.

It's a shame that there is no central destination on the Net that would act as a memorial site celebrating the lives of our colleagues. Especially given this omnipresent tech age that we live in.

Years ago there was a sort of slipshod site up with scores of memorials -- but that went the way of the dodo. Depressing.
