How do you interpret decennials, compared to firdaria or transits?

I was reading that George W. Bush called his Mercury Firdaria his wandering years. How diferent would it be if it were a Mercury decennial?

The only book I got on decennials,by V. Valens,is hard reading

Valens says that some configurations are more telling (chrematistikos) or busy than others. Related to this idea, Schmidt suggests that some techniques are more telling for some charts and may be less useful for others. He said that it is a general time lord technique that follows almost the same rules for predomination according to sect. It may be that diurnal charts show this pattern more clearly (because it is based upon the Sun) or it may be more telling when the predomination is clear (it isn't always clear which light predominates).

Conversely some time lord methods are more topical (such as profections and zodiacal releasing) and should be interpreted according to the sphere of their subject matter (such as ZR spirit according to reputation and actions).

On also might think of general time lord techniques as topical and think of what area a given planet represents and how sub periods might dispense with the general times.
