A judge has just declared Lord Lucan dead, and this article today http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/law-and-order/12137854/Judge-to-consider-sons-plea-for-Lord-Lucan-death-certificate.html seems to relate to a long time ago. I was curious about his chart and transits for the time, if that would throw any light on this mystery.

The transits, from IsisTranspluto to the exact timing inner planets, are pointing to his natal Jupiter, so maybe he had a lot of financial stress; I don't know the story behind what happened at all, not much more than what today's newspaper report says, but a stressed Jupiter suggests bad financial problems. That transit of IsisTranspluto to his natal Jupiter would have had a massive effect on him over many years, from the time IsisTranspluto was one degree applying to square his Jupiter, from around 1967.

I know nothing about this case really, but just from looking at his chart I don't think there is anything in the natal chart that would suggest he is capable of murder. A few years earlier transiting Pluto had been conjunct his natal Mars and square his Venus, but these themselves don't have any natal aspects that I associate with murderers. At very least, he was probably basically a good man under a lot of stress. His natal chart doesn't have any psychopathic aspects, but he has severe transits in the early 1970's. T

In answer to the question is Lord Lucan dead, I realised that the antiscion of his natal Sun, 25.5 degrees Sagittarius, is 4.5 degrees Capricorn, and this was also transited by Pluto in the early 1970's. There are usually significant transits and solar arcs to the natal Sun at time of death (though these don't necessarily cause death).

Edit: here is the whole story https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Bingham,_7th_Earl_of_Lucan

His natal Phaethon is 29 degrees Taurus, retrograde.

No time of birth known.
