Fixed Signs

- Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius. They are so named because they relate to the Sun's passage through the middle of the seasons, when the weather is fairly constant. Fixed signs are resistant to change and can slow down timing in horary charts.

The influence can be good or bad, depending upon whether a state of permanancy and resolution is preferred. As a detrimental feature it can show obstinacy and a difficulty in introducing change; but if the planet located in the fixed sign is indicating fortunate circumstances it can show the ability to maintain and hold a good position.

William Lilly says of them: "Let us admit the ascendant to be fixed, and the lord of that sign also in a fixed sign; you may judge the party to be of firm resolution, no changling; or as we say, one that will stand to maintain what he hath said or done, be it good or ill." (CA., p.89)
