Mundane Aspects

- are measured by right ascension and reckoned by house positions (relying upon the divisions of the nocturnal or diurnal semi-arcs) rather than sign positions. Therefore any planet close to the ascendant is in a mundane square to one close to the cusp of the 4th or 10th house, and in a mundane trine to one close to the cusp of the 5th or 9th house, etc, irrespective of their zodiacal degree positions.

An example reference to the consideration of a 'mundane square' is contained within the extracted chart judgement from Placido Tito's Primum Mobile.
