Deb is coming to the Lodge! 1 by Kim Farnell I wouldn't normally announce a Monday night at the Lodge this Lodge this way, but I think this is a little different Deb will be doing her turn on Monday 26 January at 7 pm at 50 Gloucester PLace, NW1. Hopefully, some of you Londoners - or nearby Londoners - we don't usually see will be able to brave the elements to join us. We can go for a nice drink afterwards :-) The talk is: Lilly?s Own Question ? A Life through a Horary Lens William Lilly?s 17th-century horary on whether to purchase master B?s houses gives a useful demonstration of the traditional technique for judging upon the purchase of property. It is also a rare example of Lilly asking his own question about a personal concern, by which its symbolism grants us a detailed portrait of what was going on in Lilly?s mind and life at that particular time. Approaching this horary through various angles, we see the budding master-astrologer at work in judgement. Looking deeper into the chart, we also see the practical fears and emotional insecurities of a young man daring to step above the expectations of his social status. Maybe we'll see some of you there?
