How does one read a retrograde planet ruling end of the matter house?
I was trying to read a relationship chart, and the end of the matter house happens to be Sagittarius. Its ruler Jupiter, though is currently in dignity, being in Pisces however in retrograde. I'm wondering how does one reads them?

It is difficult to interpret any chart without basic understanding and technique. Before asking what something retro means for every significator possible, such as your last chart where a question of work had a 10th lord retro too (and the Moon was applying to a retro planet), it is better to start with the basics and ask what a retro lord means and what it means specifically for benefics in this case too. We have a lot of resources from old posts on what a retro planet means and I even posted a link in another thread for someone else regarding Saturn rx that contains info on retro planets.

Here are a few links just from a quick search:

We cannot say what a chart means with one isolated influence. For example, Lilly would say the Moon applying to a retro dignified planet on an angle would be positive:

CA-II p164
Besides, usually when the Moon applies to a good aspect of a Retrograde Planet, it brings the matter to an end one way or another speedily, and when least suspected: and it's a generall Maxime in such like cases, if the Moon apply to the Fortunes, or by good aspect to any Planet or Planets in Angles, then there is reason we hope well, etc.

Here is what Gilbert Navarro has to say about a Retrograde planet...

"You never get the full benefit of a planet when that planet is retrograde. Retrograde planets hold back some of their nature. In everyday life this phenomenon is seldom noticed, unless your progressions indicate it. Be careful when beginning something when a planet that’s retrograde rules that something. Here are some examples: First-time sex with someone when Mars is retrograde will likely be a disappointment with one or both partners and could make that first time the last time. Important decisions made when Mercury is retrograde will be regretted if you’re committed to that decision. When Mercury is retrograde your decisions should be tentative and never committed. If you have to make a decision while Mercury is retrograde, the best time is in the middle of Mercury’s retrograde period, when Mercury is moving as fast as it can. Don’t think you’ve fallen in love when Venus is retrograde. You didn’t."
"When two planets are in mutual reception and one of the planets is retrograde, the retrograde planet does not want to make the mutual reception work. This isn’t a hopeless situation; the retrograde planet can be made to make the mutual reception and get things “back to normal.” For example a planet retrograde in the 3rd House was a witness to an automobile accident and can clear you from being guilty, but he doesn’t want to; he can be subpoenaed. Somehow pressure must be put on a retrograde planet to make the mutual reception work. If that planet is stationary, no amount of pressure may work, especially when that planet is a slower moving planet.
