Lots of horses drop out, so I think it's best to look closer to the race, otherwise your hot tip might not run!

It will be really hard from 57 runners to selct the winner. Confused
Using John Addey's system, 5th cusp first aspect Moon, Moon is ruler of 11 house (key words: groups, friends, peers, organizations, clubs) so I have 2 horse names which will fits: "Join together" or "What a friend". As colors better fits with "Join together" I pick "Join together" as winner .(In "What a friend" colors we have red that does not fit with Moon in Pi).

I think we are now down to 53 declared runners. Two days before the race it will be reduced to 40 runners (plus 4 reserves who will not run unless one of the 40 has to pull out through injury, etc.)

The race is run in the hour of Jupiter, with Jupiter in the 10th. The Moon in Pisces applied to conjunct Neptune. I am tempted by SeaBass who carries purple colours (Jupiter). The problem is that he has the top weight.

I use Addey's method, same as Goca, but I'm still going to wait until closer to the race.

Aintree starts on Thursday 4th. Is anyone interested in looking at other races?

Yes we could look at some of the other major races. I think we should have a good idea of the runners for Thursday by Tuesday. The main races don't have too many runners, so it should be more manageable than the Grand National Smile

The best source for the colours (and approximate odds, so you can see if it's a favourite or outsider) is the Racing Post website:
http://www.racingpost.com/horses2/cards/card.sd?race_id=571196&r_date=2013-04-06#raceTabs=sc_

There are a few difference from the site you posted, and the Racing Post is usually correct!

The race is on Saturday 6 April at 16.15 BST at Aintree racecourse 53N29, 2W57 with 10VI01 rising, MC 2GE56, Moon 1PI16 and the Campanus 5th cusp at 0CP44 with its next aspect a sextile to the Moon.

The Venus-Mars conjunction semi-square the MC is worth noting.

Hi Goca

I also use Addey's method, The first aspect is the Moon at approx 1.8 degrees, but it is also worth noting, that the Moon is at a 45 degree angle to the Sun.
And the Moon is in (1st Decan Neptune) semi square to Sun 17 degrees Aries (2 decan The Sun)

But still yet to decide!!

Thanks GB, I shall go for Cloudy Lane and Lost Glory 2 50-1 shots Smile

Interesting that Spiculum, fixed star associated with blindness, is at 01:01 Cap conj, campanus 5th before the moon sextile. Becauseicouldntsee !

By Bonatti, we have jupiter hour with jup in 10th, same as Irish Grand National, so again not a favourite and probably an English horse or one that's "known" in this race ie has run before.
Mercury prevalent again as AC ruler so some sort of duality....

What a Friend and Harry the Viking both have the same owner. Moon is in the terms of venus, which is in aries, to give red circles on the sleeves. The latter has lower odds but the name doesn't really fit, while the former name fits moon in pisces ruling 11th as Goca has said.

With the moon, I would be expecting some sort of female influence. There are no mares in the race so I'd be expecting a female trainer or jockey, or owner. Venus William's horse Pentiffic is on reserve. Good colours again but the name doesn't fit? Ms K Walsh looks like the only female jockey on Seabass and was 3rd last year.
Mr Moonshine has a female trainer who has a 2nd horse in the race but the colours aren't good.

Looking at the venus/mars conjunction Join Together is the obvious choice.

Each ways on What a Friend and Becauseicouldntsee and Seabass.

PallasAthene, excellent analyse!

I am confused about this too.
"Becauseicouldntsee"also fits regarding name because of Moon;s conjunction with Ne, but that black cap does not fit with colors...
