3 by james_m therese, it would be helpful to share a link to a specific chart from adb as opposed to giving a data dump on many that share 1 specific astro signature.. i think it would be great to focus on one at a time. - james Quote Sun Aug 31, 2014 5:20 pm
4 by Therese Hamilton These ADB charts are from the (now discontinued) software program on my computer. I don't have the links (if they exist) to the on-line ADB charts. In my program the biographies are sorted by name, and I can also sort the charts by the position of Mars, which is what I did. However, the biographies have to be sorted alphabetically. (I can provide lists of birth data for sidereal positions if that happens to be legal. That is how my program is set up.) James, I asked you before, but you never replied. Is there a reason you don't use caps when you type? All lower case is distracting to say the least, especially for the start of sentences. For this reason I tend to skip over your posts. Apologies. http://www.snowcrest.net/sunrise/LostZodiac.htm Quote Sun Aug 31, 2014 8:20 pm
5 by james_m hi therese i think data dumps on people with mars in the 6th as the sole focus doesn't really tell us much of anything. i think it would be more informative to isolate one chart at a time to look at all the astrological factors and offer some views on it.. but, that is my position and i understand we all have a different approach.. the same can be said for the use or not of 'caps'.... that is my prerogative and i don't feel i have to explain myself for doing it. 6 by Michael Sternbach therese, i quite agree with james. most of all, if you are interested in seriously discussing research results, scientific scrutiny demands that you provide all the data necessary for people to retrace them and draw their own conclusions. i don't see how selecting certain traits from a number individuals could support any thesis, without enabling us to look at the whole charts ourselves, apply our preferred house systems etc. my computer's shift key is not functioning at the moment. apologies. 7 by Therese Hamilton Michael, I didn't select certain traits from the biographies. I asked for charts with Mars in the 6th within three degrees of the ascendant degree (quincunx or inconjunct) and posted brief biography notes. Most of the biographies in ADB emphasize the person's work or career. I wanted to test the "weak malefic" concept via signs, and also to demonstrate that Mars in the 6th has more meanings than simply the usual negative concepts we associate with the 6th house. I've done a lot of research over the years, and have discovered that planets in the 6th often relate to one's public work or career. So we can't assume that Mars in the 6th relates only to illness, psychological distress or enemies. Also many natal planetary positions operate only at certain times in the life due to progressions or transits. So they may represent one-time events. An error of modern astrology in my opinion is that the entire chart is viewed from a psychological perspective. Often planets have to do with factors that aren't psychological at all and only manifest as general life conditions or events outside oneself. http://www.snowcrest.net/sunrise/LostZodiac.htm Quote Mon Sep 01, 2014 2:21 pm
